Here’s what you can expect from the Mindful QA onboarding process.

Step 1: Test Coverage

QA Onboarding Process Contract (contract icon with pen signing at bottom) We don’t require any long-term contracts. Our simple agreement only has a minimum of 20 hours! Before we start testing, we’ll make sure we’re on the same page about test coverage, including hours and devices/browsers.

Step 2: Let the testing begin!

QA Onboarding (contract icon with checkmarks on the paper and a cursor icon hovering) We’ll make sure we’re set up with access to the app or site, and prepare to dive in. Even if your devs are running behind schedule, we’re flexible. We usually only need one week’s notice to start testing.

Step 3: Reporting Bugs

QA Onboarding Process (magnifying glass icon with bug in it) We’ll start reporting bugs as we find them. Your developers can even start fixing the first issues while testing is in progress. We’ll keep you in the loop on the testing timeline before we even start, so you’ll know exactly how to plan around it.

How do we get started?

In terms of what we need in order to start testing, we’re flexible based on what works best for you. For example, some clients only provide access to the app build(s) or website URL. This can be helpful when you want to see which aspects testers will find user experience issues in without having internal instructions. Other times, clients provide detailed notes about how each area should work, and design files to check each section against. We’re very open on that front and used to working with whatever amount of detail works best for the client.

How do you communicate?

Before we start testing, we’ll let you know the timeline, so you’ll know exactly when to expect final results. During testing, you’ll be able to see bug reports as they come in (either via spreadsheet or in your bug tracking system). If your team has a Slack, we’re also happy to create a shared channel if needed.

How soon can you start?

We usually only need one week’s notice. Contact us for our current availability.

How many hours do I need?

It’s common for clients to be unsure of how many hours of testing their app or website needs. And that’s okay! We’re happy to advise. We want to make sure that we work with your budget, so you won’t feel pressured to use more hours than you need. If you’re not sure where to start, we offer two simple ways to help you decide: 1. We can stay within an hours cap of your choice. We have a 20 hour minimum per project, and you can cap testing at any amount of hours above that. We’ll do as much testing as possible until reaching the hours limit. If testers find that it could use more testing, we’ll let you know the status. But you can rest assured that we won’t do more hours unless you request or approve them. Any amount of testing is still better than none, especially for finding critical issues! 2. We can provide a custom recommendation. If you send us a link to your website or app, we can review it and let you know how many hours it could use, based on our extensive experience testing hundreds of websites and apps. You still won’t be under any obligation to use that amount of hours! It will be a personalized recommendation, and you can still cap hours at a lower amount.

How do you bill?

We send an invoice at the end of the work for that month, and payment won’t be due for another two weeks (net 14). We accept payment via direct deposit, credit/debit card, check, and cryptocurrency (BTC, ETH, DIVI).

Looking for more steps? We keep it easy.

Once the QA onboarding process is complete, you can come and go as you please. Whether you need a full-time QA tester for the foreseeable future or just 20 hours every few months, you’ll never get billed for hours you don’t use.
